The second wedding from June’s back to back wedding weekend! Marlyn and Jorge were one of my couples who booked before COVID started and then had to postpone until June 12, 2021. They got married on the HOTTEST day of June but everything turned out beautifully and let me tell you, they know how to throw a party!
I have only shot 1 other Catholic wedding up until the point and they come with some gorgeous touches that are specific to the Catholic Religion with some of those details being the monies and rosary. Marlyn as had a ring from her mother and opted of a lush bridal bouquet with deep reds, bright greenery and touches of white. Then of course we can’t forget her dress made with delicate lace and cathedral length veil!
I always instruct my couples to pull at of their details into a box (typically their shoe box, if there is room, that way everything is easy and quick to photograph.) And I love with they remember to put their invitation suite in because it really helps put the final touch to their detail photos. It also helps tell a complete story when you go to start creating your album.
Marlyn chose to rent an Airbnb in near 41st street in Tulsa to get ready the morning of the wedding with all of the women before heading to Battle Creek to put the dress on and head to the church. This wedding had A LOT of moving pieces to bring the day together.
The guys arrived ready so you will see pics of the groom and his guys further down. 😎
The girls started early through with a start time around 6:30 AM and there was an abundance of snacks (not pictured) including every ladies favorite, Chick-fil-a.
Party Express transported both the family and bridal party to Saint Pius church for the ceremony from Battle Creek Golf Course. The Ceremony had some great touches special to the couple and family including a four-person Mariachi Band and ceremony conducted completely in Spanish. Then there were a typical moments you expect during a Catholic wedding including readings, communion, and a floral arrangement presented to Mary.
The location was also unique being that it was a completely round chapel with provided some amazing angles!
Once the Ceremony was over Marlyn and Jorge had a scheduled three hour break between the end of the Ceremony and the beginning of their Reception.
So what would you do with that time? But get all the photos you can and the RELAX before the party! After dropping the bridal party and family back off at the gold course we headed Downtown to Boston and 3rd street for the first party of their couples portraits. Marlyn had mentioned wanting the large buildings as a part of their photos and I was more than happy to deliver on that.
Once we had enough we piled back on the bus a b-lined it back to the Golf Course so they could get some much needed downtime.
Time for our amazing wedding party! As guests started to arrive again we headed back out with the group and snagged those large bridal party shots before they all got to really let lose and start to live it up! Jorge even did things he never thought he’d do on his wedding day including getting picked up by his groomsmen. 😂 But my favorite part of this? THEIR ENERGY! Especially when we were doing all of this with a Real Feel of 105 degrees.
Say it with me…GOLDEN HOUR IS LIFE!
After the party got rolling we headed out one last time to finish up their photos. before sending them back in to dance the night away!
And it was perfect! Everything was soft and golden and well…perfect! 😅
Like I said earlier, they know how to throw a party! From a five-person Mariachi in the full get-up, to a bangin’ DJ, and amazing food! The Reception had it all. One of the coolest details was the shot glass favors with their names burned into the leather brought directly from Tequila, Mexico. Even the DJ wanted one. 🤣
And have you ever seen a white boy Wobble? Well I have and it was the funniest thing I saw all night.
The dance floor was packed, the Margaritas well flowing, and some amazing memories were definitely made throughout the night.
A huge Congrats to Marlyn, Jorge, and their families! Nothing is better then a night of celebration that starts off a lifetime of adventures!
The one thing to always remember when it comes to wedding day though, it’s just one day. What you create together with be amazing. I wish you many years of love, joy, and the craziness that is life.
